Snodland Chess Club is pleased to announce its Christmas Blitz Tournament 2026, taking place on Saturday 12th December at our new venue in Snodland.
The tournament will consist of 13 rounds of ECF-rated Blitz chess, offering an enjoyable afternoon of competitive play for chess enthusiasts of all abilities.
This event is being organised as a fundraiser for Snodland Chess Club, helping to support the club and its activities.

- 2nd Prize: £50
- Grading Prizes: Two prizes of £50 each, subject to sufficient entries.
Free tea, coffee and mince pies will be provided throughout the event.

The Moyeuvre-Grande Suite is accessed via the black stairs to the left-hand side of the building.
Parking
Limited parking is available at the venue and in surrounding roads.
Additional free parking is available at Rocfort Road car park (ME6 5NQ), approximately 200 metres from the venue.
How to Enter
Entries cost £15 per player, with a maximum of 48 places available.

As this tournament is also a fundraiser, donations are very welcome from anyone who would like to support the club but does not wish to participate.

ECF-rated Rapidplay – 5 round ECF-rated Rapidplay (25 minutes + 5 second increments).
Prizes
- Open section; 1st place £100, 2nd place £60, 3rd place £40
- U1850 section; 1st place £100, 2nd place £60, 3rd place £40
- U1450 section; 1st place £100, 2nd place £60, 3rd place £40
The ECF September rating list will be used. .
Tea, coffee, cold drinks, sandwiches and light snacks will be available on the day. There will also be a small secondhand book stall. Cards payments will be possible on the day.

START TIME: 10.30am (expected finish approx 5pm)
£20 Early Entry for ECF Gold members, £36 for ECF Bronze / non-members.
Early Entry price is available until Saturday 5th September 2026, after that £5 will be added to the entry fee.
